One of my greatest joys as a family photographer is photographing cheeky kids. Those kids who don't stay still, who wriggle and pull faces. The children whose parents give me a wry face and an 'I'm sorry' shrug.
Don't be sorry! These kids are awesome - they are fun and quirky and I love to work with them. Children change so quickly that to stifle this craziness for the sake of a strained and 'perfect' smile seems such an anathema to me. It's wonderful to be given the chance to make photographs with kids like this. Their outgoing and funny personalities are wonderful and the opportunity to encapsulate this brief characterful moment in their lives a really honour.
